Nicky Campbell makes 'c word' gaff live on air as Donald Trump arrives in UK

Nicky Campbell has fallen into the trap of mispronouncing Jeremy Hunt's name in an extremely sweary on-air gaffe.

The BBC Radio 5 Live host became the lastest of many people to stumble over the Foreign Secretary's name, as Donald Trump arrived in London on Air Force One.

Describing the events on the landing strip at Stansted Airport, Campbell said: "He’s going to be meeting Mr Ben Julian Harrington, Chief Constable of Essex Police, who’s standing just behind Jeremy C**t…Jeremy Hunt."

It's not the first time broadcasters have become tongue tied over the Foreign Secretary's name.

In 2010, BBC Radio 4 host James Naughtie lived up to his name, accidentally referring to then culture secretary  Jeremy Hunt  as "Jeremy C**t".

He later apologised, saying he “got into an awful tangle” and explained he mixed up the words 'Hunt' and 'Culture'.

Andrew Marr inadvertently repeated the same slip the same day.

Fellow BBC host Justin Webb made a similar mistake in 2018, and last year Carrie Gracie followed suit on TV last year.

And Sky News presenter John Craig got himself into a sweary tangle with Mr Hunt's name on two separate occasions, and the BBC's Sunday morning anchorman.
