Nicki Minaj reveals what Jesy Nelson is really like after teaming up on Boyz

By Brendan McFadden

Rapper Nicki Minaj has told of her love for Jesy Nelson after appearing on her brand new single.

Boyz is Jesy's first solo single since leaving Little Mix in December.

And Nicki has been giving the star a boost by sharing clips of the storming music video on her Instagram Story.

She also gushed over her pal in another post, saying: "Btw, @jesynelson is actually dope IRL!! So bloody sweet love her so much."

She also expressed her affection for the star in the post by including emojis of pink bows, a love heart, a Union Jack flag and a unicorn.

The music video to Boyz also features an unexpected cameo from none other than P. Diddy.

In the video, Jesy can be seen showing off her incredible dance skills, while also showcasing her acting chops in a scene alongside Diddy.

After a tumultuous year following her departure from Little Mix after almost a decade, fans have insisted that Jesy is finally back to herself, and is being the person she always wanted to be.

Jesy previously warned that her new track Boyz is either a ‘love it or hate it’ kind of song.

She admitted that the club anthem is rather ‘in your face’ and is likely to divide her fanbase.

"You're either going to love it or you're going to hate it and I would rather that than people be like, 'Meh, okay,” she told Noctis XXI Magazine.

So far, the majority of the reviews from fans have been overwhelmingly positive.

The star quit Little Mix last December, saying it was necessary to protect her mental health.

"I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard," she told fans at the time.

And in her first interview after leaving the band, Jesy further explained that the constant comparisons to her bandmates had prompted her decision to quit.

"I was bigger than the other three, and there's never really been that in a girl group," the singer told Cosmopolitan. "I was classed as the obese, fat one."

Looking back, she said: "I can't believe how miserable I was."

Nicki has worked with Jesy in the past when she was still in Little Mix, when she appeared on their song Woman Like Me.
