The annual NBA Draft Combine takes place next week in Chicago, and unfortunately, no Spartans will be taking place in the event this year. The list of participating players was released this afternoon and Nick Ward was not listed as a participant.
This isn’t exactly a shocker, as he has never really been considered to be a high-ranked prospect for the draft. However, he must have heard good enough feedback in the pre-draft process thus far to hire an agent and officially declare for the draft.
There is still a chance that Nick Ward could join Matt McQuaid at the Professional Basketball Combine at the Mamba Sports Academy. The PBC is the secondary combine for NBA hopefuls, and Ward should probably attend that if he wants a solid chance at being drafted in the second round of the draft.
There is still no word if Kenny Goins will be invited to the PBC at this time.
