Nick Sirianni compares Eagles to a flower while discussing growing pains

Nick Sirianni is looking to motivate his team and as the 2-5 Eagles prepare for the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia’s told his team and the media about the process that a flower takes to blossom.

“There’s gotta be a message that I have to keep everybody together.”

“I put a picture of a flower up, It’s coming through the ground and the roots are growing out. And the roots are continuing to grow out, and the only way they continue to grow is if we water, we all fertilize, we all do our part.”

The Eagles have a young, rebuilding roster, that’s being led by one of the youngest coaching staff in recent memory. It’ll take time for Sirianni’s system to gel, and GM Howie Roseman will likely need to continue overhauling the roster to put his coaches in the best position to succeed.

It’s the normal Sirianni and will likely cause an uproar among the fans and local media, but if his team doesn’t grasp the message and perform on Sunday, the Eagles head coach will face the equivalent of ‘Tru Green’ when he next meets the media.
