Nick Showering: The funny Apprentice contestant with a soft spot for West Country orchards

The Apprentice may be a show that revolves around the very serious world of business but, for many, the BBC hit is a sure-fire way of getting some giggles. And this year, fans are praising one candidate in particular for his 'comedic value'.

Although some have questioned whether he is even a 'real person', Nick Showering has won over the hearts of viewers, with some even admitting that they have a bit of a crush on him. But who is the budding businessman?

31-year-old Nick is a finance manager from London. His time on The Apprentice comes after years of working in the shadow of his family's business, as he hopes to make a name for himself in the soft drink industry.

Chartered accountant Nick considers himself to be a 'people person' who has 'lots of fun'. Before entering the competition, he told the BBC that his plan to beat his rivals is to kill them with kindness.

Nick shows his passion for the drink industry in his spare time, too. A few months prior to him appearing on our screens every Thursday evening, Nick of him picking cider apples in Somerset, with the caption 'Cider apple season'.

The budding entrepreneur has also tried establishing himself in the soft drink industry away from the show. Nick attended the British Soft Drinks annual industry lunch in October, and has posted pictures of him on his way to meetings, where he has been working on new drink brands.

Despite his serious attitude to business, Nick has been making fans giggle not just on the show, but on social media too. On Instagram, Nick has been posting memes relating to his time on the show, including an image of the Carlsberg logo, which has had the 'turd like' logo that Nick and the rest of the boys designed in the opening episode of this season.

Notably, Nick has developed a bit of a following on TikTok, garnering over 1.2 million likes on the video sharing app. The 31-year-old posts reactions to his own scenes in The Apprentice, including the incredible moment in last week's episode where he was unexpectedly sent back to the house.

And fans have been quick to express their relief that Nick is still on the show, even if Lord Sugar did threateningly raise his finger at the young entrepreneur. One fan, Lydia, said: "More intense than the euros - but Nick you are coming home".

Meanwhile, Qasim said: "When he pointed the finger at you, I thought it was over."

Nicola echoed the feeling of many fans of the show towards Nick, by commenting: "I think it's safe to say we all love you".

Nick will be back on our screens for tonight's episode of The Apprentice (February 24) at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
