Nick Saban expects Mel Tucker to bounce back from tough loss, calls him a ‘very capable guy’

Michigan State Football fans were pretty frustrated last weekend after the team’s loss to a lowly Rutgers team at home. However, I have personally seen a lot of patience out of MSU fans who seem ready to ride it out with Tucker. According to Nick Saban, a former MSU coach (1995-99) in his own right and possibly the most prolific college football coach of all time, that trust is being put into a good place with Tucker.

“Mel is a very capable guy,” Saban told the media on an SEC teleconference. Saban had Tucker on his staff as a graduate assistant for two years at MSU. “He did an outstanding job for us when he was with us, and I think has done a really good job, wherever he’s been, in whatever his responsibility has been.”

If Alabama mega-coach Nick Saban still has faith in Tucker, I think we all should trust in the new head coach in East Lansing.
