Nick Pivetta sent the Red Sox to the playoffs by absolutely fooling Juan Soto with a nasty curveball

Sunday was a wild final day of the 2021 MLB regular season as four teams in the AL entered the afternoon with a chance of claiming the two wild-card spots.

At the end of the day the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox punched their tickets to the postseason by winning their final games – the Yankees beat the Rays in a 1-0 nail-biter and the Red Sox rallied from a 5-1 deficit to beat the Nationals 7-5.

Boston got a 2-run home run from Rafael Devers in the ninth inning and then Nick Pivetta made his first appearance as a reliever this season in the bottom of the ninth and closed things down with this ridiculous pitch:

Fooling Juan Soto is a hard thing to do but Pivetta did just that with that nasty curveball. My goodness.
