Nick Kyrgios 'relaxes at Wimbledon pub' late into the evening ahead of Centre Court clash with Rafael Nadal

Nick Kyrgios was spotted hanging out in his favourite Wimbledon pub on the eve of his second round clash with Rafael Nadal.

The mercurial Australian tennis star, who takes faces Nadal on Centre Court this afternoon, was reportedly ‘relaxing with friends’ at the Dog & Fox late into the night on Wednesday.

One witness account said Kyrgios was there after 11pm.

An unorthodox approach for a professional athlete, perhaps, but today’s scheduling means that the earliest Kyrgios and Nadal are expected on court will be 4.15pm.

Kyrgios described the Spaniard as his ‘polar opposite’ and ‘super salty’ during a candid interview last month , and when asked about his relationship with Nadal on Tuesday, the Australian admitted that he probably wouldn’t be popping out for a beer with him anytime soon.

“I don’t know him at all. I know him as a tennis player,” said Kyrgios.

“I just don’t — no, I don’t know him very well. I don’t know what you want me to say to the question. It’s a very strange question. Ah, I am not sure that me and Rafa could go down to the Dog & Fox and have a beer together.’’
