Nick Kyrgios pays tribute to Kobe Bryant at Australian Open with LA Lakers jersey

Nick Kyrgios wore a Los Angeles Lakers jersey in tribute to Kobe Bryant as he walked onto court for his fourth-round match against Rafael Nadal on Monday.

Former Lakers star Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash in California on Sunday, alongside eight others including his 13-year-old daughter.

The NBA legend's death, at just 41-years-old, has shocked the sporting world, with tributes pouring in from all corners.

Kyrgious was one of a number of tennis players in Melbourne to pay tribute to Bryant, wearing the iconic yellow Lakers jersey as he prepared for his match against Nadal at the Rod Laver Arena.

The official twitter account of the Australian Open posted an image of Kyrgios in the Lakers jersey, adding: "Paying tribute to the late great Kobe Bryant."

The tournament marked the death of Bryant by showing a montage of the basketball star in action on the big screen ahead of the clash between Kyrgios and Bryant.
