Nick Kyrgios makes marriage offer to "hot chick" in crowd at Laver Cup

Nick Kyrgios claimed an attractive female in attendance at his match was one of the reasons behind his three set defeat to Roger Federer in the Laver Cup in Geneva on Saturday.

The 24-year-old lost 6-7(5), 7-5, 10-7 to the Swiss star, which means Team Europe have moved into a 5-3 lead over Team World in the competition.

Despite winning the first set and playing some promising tennis during a match which lasted an hour and 51 minutes, Kyrgios couldn't quite match up to Federer, but after hitting a few poor shots his reasoning behind a sudden dip in form was caught on camera.

As he returned to his seat after moving a game ahead in the second set Kyrgios was heard telling his team: "I lost concentration, I saw a really hot chick in the crowd. Like, I'm being genuinely honest- I'd marry her right now. Right now."

The outspoken star is known for often losing concentration and not giving his best in matches, and this appears to be yet another example of his head not being completely in the game.

He regularly visited the Dog and Fox pub the night before matches at Wimbledon this summer, and caused controversy by receiving a code violation after swearing during the second round of the US Open.

Kyrgios is all too aware he is not always the most popular figure, and admitted ahead of the game against Federer that he was not even sure his own family would be supporting him.

When asked about whether he believed the whole stadium would be supporting Federer in the 38-year-old's home country, Kyrgios said: "Maybe my family - maybe - but again it's going to be an experience I never forget."

Kyrgios will next be in action in the doubles when he and American Jack Sock take on Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas on Saturday evening.
