Nick Cordero: Broadway star 'still very sick' as he battles coronavirus, wife Amanda Kloots says

Nick Cordero’s wife Amanda Kloots has updated her followers on the Broadway actor’s health following a long battle with coronavirus.

After Cordero’s health last week took a turn for the worse, former dancer Kloots took to Instagram Stories on Monday (25 May) to share a “Nick update” on her husband’s current state.

“Nick is doing slightly better than yesterday,” the mother-of-one wrote, adding: “He is still very sick and battling a lot.

“They turned him to a proning position today to open his airways. He has had this before and it helped a lot. They also cleaned his lungs out again to help fight the infection.”

Asking her followers to continue praying for Cordero, Kloots explained: “He is and has been Covid negative now for weeks. What he is and has been dealing with is the fall out from the virus and from infections that arise from being in the ICU as long as he has.”

Determined to stay positive, Kloots had given a positive report on Cordero’s health on Friday (22 May), writing: “He is doing good. He is defying odds. He is fighting and showing small improvements each day. It is exactly what we need. Small improvements are small wins that equal a VICTORY!”

The Tony-nominated actor was admitted to hospital on 30 March after being diagnosed with pneumonia and being put on a ventilator for Covid-19.

Cordero has since faced a number of complications, including septic shock and two “mini strokes”, with his right leg needing to be amputated due to blood clotting.
