With a long and potentially frustrating rebuild on the Oklahoma City Thunder’s horizon, how about a trip down memory lane? It’s for a good reason. Promise.
During the Golden Age of the Oklahoma City Thunder, there was Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, James Harden … and Nick Collison.
In his 14 years in the league, Collison was never an NBA superstar, or an NBA All-Star for that matter. But the Iowa native embodied what it meant to be a member of the Thunder. He was a hard worker, a support system on the team and a leader both on and off the court, earning him the nickname Mr. Thunder.
By the looks of his Instagram, Mr. Thunder got his happily ever after over the weekend.
Collison posted photos showing that he proposed to long-time girlfriend Jessica Wilson.
It’s been a big year for Collison. In March, he became the first member of the Thunder to have his jersey retired and raised into the rafters at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
