Nick Chubb: ‘it’s just more natural’ running into his second NFL season

Nick Chubb has a reputation for not saying too much on or off the field. So when he’s presented by the Browns as a player for post-practice media availability, it’s always interesting to hear what’s on his mind.

Heading into this Sunday’s opener against the Tennessee Titans, the second-year running back is feeling really positive about the upcoming season.

“Everything is just coming to me and it’s easier, seeing things a lot faster. It’s just more natural,” Chubb said.

He’s also quite confident in his offensive line, even if the Browns did trade away stalwart right guard Kevin Zeitler.

“I have a lot of confidence in those guys. We only lost one from last year,” he said. “You know, the guy who filled in for him (Eric Kush), he’s doing a great job and all the guys up front are very experienced, talented and a lot of great chemistry between them and I look forward to running behind them.”

Chubb exploded onto the league after getting little opportunity in the first six weeks of 2018. After rushing for just 173 yards in those games while toiling behind Carlos Hyde, Chubb ran for over 800 in the final 10 games as the team’s starter.

Now he’s the unquestioned No. 1 runner, and Chubb is ready to roll.
