The Sick Bag Song is Nick Cave’s exploration of love, inspiration and memory shaped around the events of his 2014 tour of North America. It began life as a series of lyrics, poems, memories, musings, flights of fancy and journal entries scribbled on airline sick bags, and soon grew into a full-length project.
Film-makers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard – the directors of the acclaimed film 20,000 Days on Earth – have made a series of trailers to mark the limited-edition publication of Nick Cave’s new book, The Sick Bag Song. Each is named after a different city, and focuses on a reading from that city’s chapter. The Los Angeles film is exclusive to the Observer.
