Nick Carter claims brother Aaron 'threatened to kill his pregnant wife'

Nick Carter has filed a restraining order against his pop star brother Aaron, alleging he threatened to kill his pregnant wife and unborn child.

Backstreet Boys singer Nick has been granted a temporary order saying Aaron must stay at least 100 feet away from him, his family and his home in Las Vegas.

Explaining his decision, 39-year-old Nick said: "After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today.

"In light of Aaron's increasingly alarming behaviour and his recent confessions that he harbours thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family."

Nick continued to say that he hopes Aaron seeks help: "We love our brother and truly hope he gets the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else."

Aaron, 31, acknowledged the restraining order on Twitter but denied the allegations of threatening behaviour.

He said: "I am astounded at the accusations being made against me and I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family."

He then went on to speak out in a series of tweets about his life and how he was not going to allow his brother to 'end his life'.

Aaron tweeted: "I can’t let anyone take my life from me and what I’ve gone through is insane and I’m a survivor and I know that. It’s MY job to be ok. Just watch what I do with my life next."

He continued: "I’m better than this, and I’m going to succeed. I don’t need to come from a place of retaliation or revenge or hurt."

Aaron finished with: "You cannot lead with revenge in your heart. I just need to get away from this. I don’t want anything to do with him and I’m working on me. I love you guys thank you for your support and nick please stay away from me, and angel. I will be ok. I will get my life back. Xoxo"

Aaron, who rose to fame in the late 1990s as a child singer, added: "Take care. @nickcarter. we're done for life."

It has been a difficult time for Aaron in recent weeks as he opened up about his mental health during a TV appearance.

Speaking on a recent episode of US TV show The Doctors, he said he suffered from "multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and manic depression".

Aaron has also admitted to a history of drug convictions.

He later said he did not have any mental health issues and the show had been edited to make it look like he did.

The Doctors' producers denied the episode had been edited.

Aaron has also been flaunting his gun collection, according to TMZ.

The singer has shown off that he owns a 9mm handgun, two assault rifles and other firearms.

It has been reported that police are looking into an 'obscure law' that gives them the power to seize them.

Nick is a member of chart-topping boy band the Backstreet Boys and announced his wife Lauren was expecting the couple's second child in May.
