Nick Cannon has been fired from one of his presenting jobs after he was accused of making antisemitic comments on his podcast.
The 39-year-old TV presenter sparked an angry backlash after statements about Jewish people in an episode of his podcast, Cannon's Class, which have been widely condemned.
ViacomCBS – which make his programme Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out – has now cut ties with the star.
The MTV series – which has aired since 2015 – will come to an end after the production company fired the star as he refused to apologise for his comments.
A spokesperson for Viacom told TMZ: “ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism.
"We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
“While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him."
Nick’s comments included: "You can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people.”
He went on to say: “When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”
On Monday, Nick refused to apologise over his remarks, saying: "Anyone who knows me knows that I have no hate in my heart nor malice intentions. I do not condone hate speech nor the spread of hateful rhetoric."
Meanwhile, Nick has been under fire for the same episode of his podcast after he branded white people: “Closer to animals, they're the ones that are actually the true savages".
The presenter – who has worked on America’s Got Talent in the past and currently hosts The Masked Singer in the USA – had suggested white people were “less” than black people.
The comments caused British rapper Zuby, to tweet: "Nick Cannon has gone full black supremacist. This is 100% certified racist."
