Nick Bosa forms new club after huge game vs. Panthers

Nick Bosa was uniquely dominant Sunday in the 49ers’ 51-13 rout of the Carolina Panthers. He put up four tackles, 3.0 sacks, and an interception in the win.

Those numbers are remarkable. So remarkable, in fact, that they’re the first of their kind in 49ers’ history. No other 49er has ever had three sacks and an interception in the same game.

A 3-sack game with an interception is relatively rare for any team. Bosa’s outing was just the 22nd since 1982, and the first since Chris Jones did it for Cincinnati in 2017.

The list of players who’ve pulled off that feat includes Hall of Famers like Mike Singletary, Kevin Greene, Richard Dent and Lawrence Taylor.

Nobody’s ever done it twice, but Bosa will have plenty of chances to do it again since he’s already done it once as a rookie.
