Nicholas Hamilton nears Dundee loan deal as they remain keen on Nadir Ciftci

Ambitious Dundee are set to sign Jamaican forward Nicholas Hamilton on-loan.

The Dark Blues have agreed a loan deal with Canadian side York 9 FC.

The paperwork and work permits have all been sorted and the 23-year-old is expected to start pre-season training before the end of the month.

Dundee boss James McPake has been alerted to Hamilton’s availability because of COVID-19 regulations in Canada.

Hamilton was signed from Cavalier FC but has still to arrive in Canada because of the pandemic.

York 9 now want him to head to Europe to get experience and that looks to be in the Scottish Championship.

Hamilton, who can play as a striker or a winger, has been called up to Jamaica’s camp for domestic players but as yet remains uncapped for the Reggae Boyz.

Dundee are also keen on former Dundee United striker Nadir Ciftci.
