
Fans take photos of a steam locomotive in the guise of Thomas the Tank Engine, the title character in a popular British TV series, in Shimada, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Saturday, when Oigawa Railway started this year's operation of the special attraction. The company decorated its C11-227 model, manufactured in 1942, by placing a mask of the character's face on its front. This is the sixth year of operation for the attraction, which has been enjoyed by more than 460,000 passengers so far. The special train will this year be in operation for 87 days through Dec. 1.
