A photograph has been emerged showing the inside of the flat where the man who killed 84 people in an attack in Nice lived.
Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel ploughed a 19-tonne lorry into a crowd of hundreds of spectators during a Bastille Day fireworks display before he was shot dead by police.
The 31-year old French-Tunisian was known to police for anti-social behaviour, but had not been connected with any terrorist activity and was not known to intelligence services.
The picture that has emerged from neighbours is of a quiet man who did not seem to be especially religious. According to local news outlets, people who lived in the same building said he was notable for not returning greetings from other people.
Bouhlel worked as a delivery driver and had recently split up with his wife, with whom he had three children.
A photograph of a corner of his apartment taken as police searched the address shows a small room with assorted pieces of furniture and a computer monitor.
