Niall Horan says One Direction won't reunite until they've aged as well as Take That

Niall Horan says One Direction won't be reuniting until they've aged as well as the Take That boys.

The singer, 26, says that when Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald reunited in 2006, they looked better than they ever had.

And he wants the same thing for him and his bandmates.

Niall told the Daily Sta r: "When they came back they looked better than they ever did. If we all look that good, I'll take it."

The former X Factor star also said he wants to replicate the success of Take That's comeback music.

The band came back with hit Patience and have had a string of chart-toppers ever since.

Niall said: "To come back as great as they did - you know, it didn't look forced. I would hate for people to be like, 'Here they are coming for the money - because they've spent it all'.

"If and when we come back, it would be to bring the joy back to people who had missed us and the fact that we could break the internet with that selfie! I wanna do it when everyone it f**king ready."

Niall also joked that the only thing bigger than a 1D reunion is the Friends one.

He added: "When I saw that Instagram that Jennifer Aniston posted with the cast of Friends, it kind of reminded of 1D, because they're the only ones that get it."

He said that while that may be a "strange analogy", Jennifer and her co-stars are the only other five people in the world who understand what it's like to be under the spotlight for so long.

He said he, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are "basically brothers for life".

One Direction were formed on X Factor in 2010 after they all auditioned as solo artists.

They came third in the competition but went on to become of the most successful acts ever to come out of the show.

Zayn quit the band in 2015 and the following year, the band went on hiatus and they each went on to release their own music.

Fans have been desperate for them to get back together ever since.
