Niall Horan says meeting football legend Pele was one of the 'best moments' of his life

Niall Horan has toured the world and sold millions of albums as he went from a Mullingar lad to one of the biggest names in the music industry in just a few years - but meeting a football legend trumps all of that.

The Westmeath native rose to fame as part of One Direction and has now carved out a successful solo career since the band's split at the end of 2015.

And after living the high life for several years, the 25-year-old musician took to Twitter to reveal that meeting Brazil legend Pelé was one of the best moments of his life.

And renowned for his samba style in the '60's and '70's that seen him go down as one of the greatest ever, Horan revealed that Pelé is a big music fan himself.

He said: "One of the best moments of my life. He was so lovely and like any other Brazilian, he loves his music."

Soccer Aid 2019 will see a star-studded line-up of celebs and football legends play in an England v World match in aid of Unicef.
