Niall Horan's sustainable fitness brand Gym+Coffee to open new Liverpool ONE store

A leading Irish fitness brand has continued its UK expansion by opening a new store in Liverpool - creating jobs in the process.

Gym+Coffee will open its new 'clubhouse' at Liverpool ONE on Saturday - the latest of four new UK locations this year - following launches in London, Belfast and Manchester.

The brand said expansion into Liverpool will create 15 jobs for the city, with the move part of wider plans to bring the total number of employees from 110 to 170 by the end of this year.

The 1,579sq ft store features an interactive corner with half-table ping-pong amongst the brand’s collection of athleisure and activewear.

Co-founder Diarmuid McSweeney said: “We are thrilled to announce the opening of a new Gym+Coffee Clubhouse in another fantastic city.

"With a large community base already in Liverpool it’s great that we can now accommodate this demand in the city and its surrounding areas.

"As with all our clubhouses we hope it will not only be a place to shop but a welcoming space that provides the community somewhere to meet and openly socialise and help contribute our ambition to make life richer.

"The added integration of sustainable elements within the store like our recycled plastic mannequins is also the beginning of a long journey in the company’s goal to create a wholly sustainable business that seriously considers its impact on our environment.”

This expansion follows the announcement earlier this year of pop star Niall Horan investing in Gym+Coffee, and helping to raise the profile of the brand across the UK and beyond.

The store will offer a full range of Gym+Coffee athleisure including sustainable garments made from 100% recycled polyester.

Gym+Coffee’s Liverpool store will draw in sustainable solutions that includes the use of mannequins made from recycled plastic.

Like other stores, it will also offer customers a carrier bag made from 100% recycled polypropylene materials - appropriately labelled 'I used to be a fridge'.
