Niall Horan hits out after fan said he took selfies 'like a weirdo'

Niall Horan has hit back at online critics who have been giving him grief.

The Mullingar man spoke out after comments were made on how he took a selfie.

A follower shared a photo of the star on Twitter criticised him for taking a selfie with his left hand "like a weirdo".

Niall, 26, responded: "That's not very nice, is it?"

And when asked by another fan why he decided to engage, Niall stated his case plainly.

He explained:"I’ve been through this 1000 times to help other people. Because we are famous faces and people see us online, on TV, in interviews etc.... doesn’t mean people can say what they want."

He added: "It’s effectively the same as walking up to someone in the street and just saying what you want to their faces... you just don’t do it."

Chatting with another fan, Niall said: "It bothers me because I know it hurts other people and that’s the frustrating part. Not everyone is as thick skinned.

"We are normal people that do an abnormal job in which society has put us in a different category for some reason."

However, the fan reached out to apologise to Niall, writing: "I don’t think I could say sorry enough for how awful I feel.

"I’m so sorry if I offended you, that was truly not the intention at all. I meant it as a silly joke but it’s so hard to tell through a screen what my intentions were. I’ve never felt worse in my life."

The One Direction star graciously accepted, replying: "Please don’t apologise. You’re fine x."
