Nia Sharma has been making news for her bold moves in the web series titled Twisted. The conventional bahu of television took her fans by shock with her portrayal of a supermodel in the series. Recently, the video of her liplock with co-actor Isha Sharma went viral and created quite a stir. In an interview with us, Nia says she doesn’t understand why there’s so much fuss around it.
“I shot the kissing scene two months back and it was just shown now. I was very nervous at that time and was not comfortable with it,” says Nia, adding, “Suddenly it went viral [now]. Such a thing (two girls kissing) is so common nowadays. I don’t know why people are making a big deal about it.”
However, Nia has no regrets. “I will not pretend that I did not enjoy the limelight when this [kissing video] went viral. It was because of this that people got to know about the show, and started watching it,” says Nia, who will soon be seen in reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Nia, who shot to fame with her shows Jamai Raja and Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai , says she wanted to try something new with her web series. “I played a bahu for six years on-screen. I really wanted to come out of that. When my fans saw my kiss in the web series, they made funny memes out of it. I did not get any hate messages, which shows that they accepted me [like this]. It’s high time we go beyond just being TV actors. If I can be a bahu on TV, I can do this too. If I get the chance to play a nice girl again, I will do that too,” adds Nia.
Talking about Khatron Ke Khiladi, Nia says she is gearing up for the reality show. “I will not lie and say that I am not nervous. I want to perform to the best of my ability. I like the amalgamation of celebrities participating and everyone has a chance to win,” she says.
