Northern Ireland is gearing up for more blustery weather this weekend as Storm Dennis approaches.
On Friday, the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind and rain on Saturday, February 15.
In preparation for the storm, multi-agency partners have met and will monitor the situation to respond to any impacts.
The Department of Infrastructure said motorists should be prepared for some disruption and that it "may be necessary to close roads or put temporary restrictions in place" during the storm.
A spokesperson said: "Traffic disruption and some localised flooding are possible and the public are being asked to consider their journeys and take extra care when travelling this weekend.
"Given the pre-existing saturated ground, some further road flooding is possible, especially rural roads in the west and a few trees may topple at relatively lower gust speeds than would normally be the case.
"The Department’s roads and rivers teams have been checking and clearing road gullies and drainage grilles and staff will be on standby across the weekend.
Belfast International Airport have also advised customers to expect disruption to flights this weekend.
Easyjet have also reported a number of their flights have been delayed already this morning.
What to expect:
- Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are possible and there is a small chance that some roads and bridges could close.
- Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities are likely to be affected by spray and/or large waves
- There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
- There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
"Monitoring of water levels and tides has been ongoing and will continue until the weather warnings have elapsed.
"There is a possibility of large waves along parts of the east coast from late morning onwards."
