NI puppy farm victim Bert is ready for a loving new home

When he was rescued from a puppy farm, poor Bert was in a pretty bad way - but just look at him now.

The Cocker Spaniel is believed to be about four or five years old and had been used as a breeding stud.

When he was taken in by Almost Home Animal Rescue NI, he was in extremely poor condition and needed two tumours removed, dental work, neutering and treatment for his skin.

Now the team in Co Down say he’s now feeling much better and he's ready to start looking for his forever home.

A spokesperson for the charity, said: "The one everyone’s been waiting for Bert the handsome, chilled cocker spaniel.

"He’s a bright boy who can still be shy, we are working on lead walks and everyday we see a happier boy emerge.

"Bert will need a home with another confident female dog.

"No children under 13 as he's frightened by children.

"He will also need a super secure outdoor space with a family or person who will continue his journey in teaching him how life should be."

Bert will be available for rehoming applications from January 4, by visiting Almosthome-ni.org
