NI news: Two arrested after alleged hijacking in West Belfast

Two men have been arrested after a reported hijacking incident in West Belfast on Sunday.

Police said that at around 2.15pm on Sunday, the driver of a white Transit van was "pulled from his vehicle" by an unknown male after making a delivery to a nearby home in the Cupar Street Lower area.

The Transit van was later found on fire on the Ballygomartin Road.

The two suspects, males aged 28 and 33, remain in custody this morning, Monday October 26.

In an appeal for information from the public, a PSNI spokesperson encouraged those who may have seen anything to contact them.

A statement added: "Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact police by calling 101, quoting reference 930 of 25/10/20. You can also submit information online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

"Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous."
