NI news: PSNI finds man wanted for two years "hiding" in Belfast roof space

A man who has been "wanted" by police for two years was found in the roofspace of a Belfast home on Friday morning

The South Belfast Neighbourhood Policing team carried out a house search in the Donegall Road area.

One male was arrested for possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

A second male was located in the attic of the property.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "A check of the roof space turned up something interesting also. A male who had been wanted by police for over two years was located hiding up above.

"He was also arrested for possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply along with two bench warrants, meaning he had failed to appear in court when he was supposed to.

"Local Neighbourhood officers continue to act on information provided to us by members of the public in relation to illegal activities in their communities. If you have any information on drug dealing or other illegal activity please contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
