However the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.

Police are asking anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or have any information that could assist them in their investigation to contact them.

A PSNI spokesperson said: We are investigating a two vehicle road traffic collision that happened today at approximately 3pm close to the junction of Ormeau Avenue, Belfast.

"We would have concerns for the passenger of this vehicle who may have a serious head injury. There is extensive front end damage to the vehicle and a smashed windscreen.

"Unfortunately, the occupants of the vehicle decided not to stay at the scene.

"If you have dash cam footage, or can assist, please contact us on 101 quoting serial 1188 of 16-11-20."
