NI Covid dashboard latest shows two further deaths and less than 100 cases in past 24 hours

Two more people have died after testing positive for Covid-19, figures released today show.

The Department of Health 's daily ‘Dashboard’ also shows that 99 people have tested positive for the virus in the previous 24 period.

Figures also show that 796 people have tested positive in the last seven days, compared to 621 in the previous seven day period. However, the stat’s also indicate that 66,766 people were tested in the last seven days compared to 46,574 in the previous seven days.

A total of 118,950 people have tested positive for Coronavirus in total, with deaths, according to the Department’s figures, now at 2,135. There have been seven deaths in the last seven days compared to ten in the previous seven.

Admissions to hospital of Covid patients in the last seven days now sits at 24 compared to 29 in the previous seven day period. Eight people with Covid, the Dashboard shows, are currently in ICU compared to nine yesterday. It adds that 54 Covid patients are in general beds with 53 in general beds yesterday.

A number of hospitals remains over-capacity, however, with Belfast City the worst at 10.13% over-capacity. There are currently four ‘active outbreaks’ of Covid in care homes, down one from the previous seven days.
