NI Coronavirus: 11 further deaths and 607 new cases reported by DoH

The Department of Health has reported a further 11 coronavirus related deaths.

Eight of these deaths are said to have occurred with the current reporting period, and three outside of it.

The death toll in Northern Ireland now stands at 836, according to the DoH.

Friday's dashboard update reports a further 607 positive cases of the virus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 45,848 since the start of the pandemic.

Over the past seven days, the Department says 3,880 individuals have tested positive in Northern Ireland.

There are currently 443 Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospital and 44 in intensive care.

Meanwhile, a deal on the current restrictions was finally reached at Stormont on Thursday evening.

The hospitality and beauty industries were planning to reopen this weekend, but current restrictions have been extended.

Close contact services including driving instructors will reopen by appointment next week, on November 20.

Hospitality will reopen on a graduated basis, with unlicensed premises such as cafes and coffee shops opening on the same date, with restricted opening hours to 8pm.

Other elements of hospitality including hotels and bars are able to open on November 27.
