The judges of the inaugural NI Beauty Excellence Awards have chosen five of Northern Ireland’s most influential beauty bloggers to go forward to a public vote for Hair/Beauty Influencer of the Year, which will be announced at the ceremony in June.
The vote is open to you - the Belfast Live readers - to decide who should be named Influencer of the Year at the awards gala on Sunday 23 June.
The influencer finalists are:
- Leigh Crawford, Life of Leigh
- Amy Savage, Cosmetics Junkiee
- Olivia Muldoon, makeup artist and hair stylist
- Elanna McGowan, Elle Pearls
- Hairdresser and columnist, Kéris Weir
The panel who selected the finalists is made up of Linda Stinson, co-founder and director of Bellamianta Tan; Pamela Smyth, Emmy Award-winning makeup designer and founder of The Makeup Department; Katrina Doran, skincare specialist and makeup artist; Dr Mervyn Patterson, Medical Director at Woodford Medical and award-winning hairdresser Paul Stafford, who founded Belfast institution, Stafford Hair.
Each of the influencers have thousands of followers in Northern Ireland and further afield thanks to their passion and know-how for trends, products and treatments.
The NI Beauty Excellence Awards will honour the salons, products and individuals which make up Northern Ireland’s hair, beauty and aesthetic industries. The influencer finalists will join over 80 businesses and individuals who have been shortlisted for the awards from over 150 entries.
Katrina Doran said beauty bloggers are an integral part of the industry now: “As these are the Northern Ireland Beauty Excellence Awards it was very important to choose a shortlist of industry professionals who carry their ethos of excellence into their social media.
"The highest standard of content is what we were looking for - not measured by easily faked followers numbers - but by true high quality and professionalism, and this is what voters should consider when casting their vote too.
“This is a very strong category that sets a beautiful standard for our industry.”
