An NHS worker has apologised for screaming “Nazi scum” at a Donald Trump supporter moments before he was doused in milkshake at a protest in central London.
The woman, who has since been identified as Siobhan Prigent, was filmed chanting “Nazi scum” at a Trump supporter and laughing after he had milkshake thrown at his face.
She has since said she “let herself down” at the protest, which brought London to a standstill as tens of thousands of people protested against Mr Trump’s state visit.
In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote: “I am very sorry for my behaviour today. I should have protested peacefully and I didn’t, I regret that.
"I let myself down and I do understand that fully. There are two sides to every story, but my actions were my own and that’s on me.”
The woman, whose social media pages reveal she works in the NHS with a special interest in mental health awareness, also pleaded with people to “leave my family and friends out of it”.
Footage emerged of the Trump supporter being surrounded by an angry group of protesters in Parliament Square, with a scuffle breaking out after a milkshake was thrown.
The man can be heard saying he is “here to stay” before throwing the cup back at protesters.
Explaining his support for Mr Trump to The Sun, the man said: “He’s done more than he said he was going to do for America. He’s true to his word when he said he wants to make America great again.
“This is the democratically elected president of the free world. I just wanted a debate with the sensible left, I didn't expect any of what happened. I never wanted it to get violent, but I wasn't going to be intimidated."
Both Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson were previously doused in milkshakes while on the campaign trail for the European elections.
The latest 'milkshaking' came as thousands of activists gathered in central London to protest against Mr Trump’s three-day state.
Demonstrators packed into Trafalgar Square before marching to Parliament Square in what organisers called a “Carnival Of Resistance” against the president.
Jeremy Corbyn was among those to address the crowds from a stage in Whitehall.
The Labour Leader accused Mr Trump of spreading “hatred” and “racism”, and rebuked him for “attacking” Sadiq Khan, after Mr Trump tweeted that the London mayor was a "stone cold loser".
