NHS website crashes as people rush to book booster coronavirus jabs

The NHS has urged people trying to book their coronavirus booster jab to try again at another time.

The health service is advising people to try again later or tomorrow as the website is showing an error message due to the amount of people trying to access the site.

Many are waiting in queues on the website due to the 'high demand' but others are struggling to access it at all.

In a tweet, the NHS said: "The Covid vaccine booking service is currently facing extremely high demand so is operating a queuing system.

"For users aged 18-29, please be aware that booking opens on Wednesday 15 Dec.

"For all others experiencing waits, we would advise trying again later today or tomorrow."

The rush to get booster jabs come after Boris Johnson announced an accelerated rollout plan on Sunday, December 13.

On Sunday he announced plans to offer jabs to every adult in England by New Year's Eve.

The ambitious programme will aim to jab almost one million people per day for the rest of December.

Meanwhile, the gov.uk website has stated that there are no more coronavirus home test kits available and urged Brits to 'try again later'.
