NHS staff can get free pair of trainers to thank them during coronavirus pandemic

NHS workers are being offered a free pair of trainers as a way of thanking them for their hard work in tackling the COVID-19 crisis.

AllBirds, who claim its shoes are the most comfortable "on the planet" is offering a limited number of pairs to staff and claiming them is really easy to do.

Informing all customers via an email, the company said: ''We admire everything NHS healthcare workers are doing for our communities.

''To show our appreciation for those on the front lines fighting COVID-19, we're offering a pair of shoes on us.

''It's a small way of saying thank you and providing comfort for the long hours you're putting in to keep us safe and healthy.''

Anyone wishing to claim a free pair can fill out the form on its website here.

The trainers usually cost £95 and AllBirds is the latest retailer to show its appreciation for the NHS and comes after many UK supermarkets introduced dedicated shopping hours for staff.

Asda, Aldi and Tesco are among those altering store opening hours to allow NHS and elderly shoppers separate time to stock up on essentials.
