NHS Million teams up with artists to create colouring-in posters to help you show your support for the NHS

NHS Million has teamed up with 16 artists from across the UK to produce a series of colouring-in posters that celebrate the National Health Service.

Twenty-one black and white designs are available for free on the NHS Million website, and there are posters to suit all ages and abilities.

And as part of our ongoing NHS Heroes campaign, we're working with the NHS Million project to harness the enormous outpouring of love and support for the incredible work done by NHS staff.

NHS Million is a non-profit campaign with the aim of creating a ‘superteam’ of a million people who will love and cherish the NHS and celebrate everything that's great about it.

The posters can be printed at home, and the NHS Million team is asking everyone to colour in the posters and put them up in their windows to show their support for the NHS.

NHS Million is led by Dr Katie Rogerson and Joe Blunden, who said: “We have seen lots of people putting artwork in their windows, and know friends and family have been doing mindfulness colouring in to try to help them relax.

"We know how much our colleagues appreciated the 'Clap for Our Carers', and we thought it could be a great time to create posters celebrating the NHS."

Beth Torvell, who helped co-ordinate the project, said: "We have American friends and family, and know how stressful and expensive life can be without the NHS.

"All the NHS employees, from the doctors and nurses, to the admin staff and porters and cleaners, are making big sacrifices and risking their health to keep us safe.

"We are so fortunate to have them all, and we really hope these posters show them how grateful we are for their hard work.”

The lockdown has hit the creative community hard, and many illustrators and artists have seen their work start to dry up.

Beth added: “It was so heart-warming to hear from artists who wanted to be involved. So many of us feel helpless and overwhelmed at the moment, but in this small way we are able to work together and to remind people that they are loved and appreciated, and that they’re not alone.”
