NHS Lanarkshire's maternity services introduce new visiting arrangements

NHS Lanarkshire’s maternity services have introduced new visiting arrangements.

There will be one designated visitor who can accompany women for pregnancy scans.

Women and their birth partner can identify one other additional person to be present at the birth.

Women can have one designated visitor identified to visit in the postnatal ward in addition to their birth partner.

The designated visitor will be restricted to a visit of 45 minutes which must be arranged by appointment with the ward area.

NHS Lanarkshire say unfortunately, due to difficulty maintaining social distancing within GP surgeries and health centres, they are still unable to accommodate a partner when a woman is attending an antenatal appointment in these locations.

This is under constant review and we are working closely with our partner agencies and hope to have a solution for this soon.
