NHS Lanarkshire report no new confirmed cases of pupils testing positive for Covid-19

NHS Lanarkshire is reporting no new confirmed cases of pupils testing positive for Covid-19 following today’s incident management team meeting.

Dr Josephine Pravinkumar, NHS Lanarkshire consultant in public health medicine, said: “We would like to reassure the local community there is currently no evidence of transmission in schools or nurseries and that appropriate measures are being implemented.

“Individuals should stay off nursery, school or work and get tested if they or their close contacts experience any Covid-19 symptoms, such as a cough, fever or loss of taste or smell, even if they are mild.

“We want to take this opportunity to remind people of measures to minimise the risk of Covid-19. These include physical distancing and regular handwashing.”

To access guidance on Covid testing for you or your child and to book a Covid test if you or your child have symptoms, please go to www.nhsinform.scot/testing. You can call 0800 028 2816 if you can’t access the test form on-line or need help to complete it.

Please do not call NHS Lanarkshire, 111 or your GP as they can’t organise tests or give out test results.
