NHS Lanarkshire move COVID vaccination centre to speed-up programme

NHS Lanarkshire have announced a temporary move of a vaccination centre in East Kilbride to speed-up the programme.

The COVID-19 vaccination centre at Ballerup Hall in East Kilbride is temporarily moving to the town's Alistair McCoist Complex.

The new venue will be up and running from November 22 and will remain until December 31 .

After this, the clinic will return to the Ballerup Hall.

Tom Elrick, general manager for the vaccination service in Lanarkshire, told us : “The move will allow us to accelerate our vaccination programme and increase the number of people we can vaccinate each day in the run up to the festive season.

"It will also allow maintenance to be carried out in the Ballerup Hall, without any break in service to our communities.”

All scheduled appointments from November 22 will have the new venue on the letter, so people will not need to amend their appointments.

For information on the local roll-out of the vaccination programme, visit the NHS Lanarkshire website.
