The NHS has issued a warning over scams where victims are asked to apply for fake Covid vaccination passes.
A warning has been put out by the health service after fake NHS text messages were sent out which told people they were eligible for a 'COVID-19 Vaccination Pass'.
In a tweet, the official NHS account said: "Beware of fake NHS text messages telling you that you're eligible to apply for a 'COVID-19 Vaccination Pass'.
"We never ask for bank details, so please be aware of suspicious messages."
The NHS then directed those affected or worried about the scam to the website of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which is a UK government organisation that has the power to investigate and take down scam email addresses and websites.
The site encourages people to report scams to the authority to reduce the amount of scam communications sent, make yourself a harder target for scammers and protect others from cyber crime online.
The organisation also warned criminals use information about you that is available online (including on social media sites) to make their phishing messages more convincing.
People can also reduce the likelihood of being phished by thinking about what personal information you (and others) post about you, and by privacy settings on your social media accounts.
