One of our NHS heroes working in an intensive care unit has made an appeal after her bike was stolen from Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Physio Lauren Claire, who uses the bike to commute to and from work everyday, finished a 'long and stressful' shift to find the bike missing.
The 23-year-old has now appealed to the public to keep their eye out for the bike, fearing it may be sold.
Lauren said: "Currently working in ICU at Glasgow QEUH and my commute to and from work is cycling. Came out of work after a long and stressful shift to find my bike has been stolen. The CCTV is covered by scaffolding at the front entrance and security say it’s happening all the time.
"Please if anyone sees it or see it being sold anywhere then please let me know!"
"Bike details: 2016 grey/black cube nature pro with a distinctive red bell and pannier rack."
Lauren this morning told Glasgow Live: "I do want to point out that the security guards at QEUH were useful and did everything they could when I reported the bike missing.
"I am overwhelmed with the response on social media and it’s heart warming at how much the public have pulled together offering their support."
Sadly, as Lauren alluded to, she isn't the only NHS staff member to have their bike stolen in recent days.
Nurse Graeme Boyle posted a similar social media appeal yesterday, after his bike was stolen from Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
He commented: "I'm a nurse working specialist covid admissions unit at GRI and somebody's just made my life harder."
