NHS Forth Valley is encouraging the use of Naloxone in Falkirk to tackle drug overdoses.
Naloxone is a medication that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose and can be administered by members of the public.
Crew from the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) are now supplying training in the town on how to use the life-saving treatment.
A Falkirk Police spokesperson said: "Our partners, NHS Forth Valley, want you to know that ambulance crews have take home Naloxone for the public and can support you in how to spot the signs of an overdose and show you how to administer Naloxone. "
It comes as the amount of drug deaths in Scotland remain "far too high" with data shared by Police Scotland revealing 1007 fatalities linked to drugs from January to September, 2021.
One patient said: "Naloxone can be that tool that shows people do care, it can get better and recover is possible.
"However, the only way that can happen is if I am kept alive."
