Two more coronavirus patients have died at the Royal Bolton hospital, NHS England announced today.

There has now been a total of seven patients who have died at the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.

Across Greater Manchester there have been 98 coronavirus deaths in NHS hospitals, according to the latest government statistics revealed this afternoon - an increase of 20 since yesterday.

This figure does not include people who have died in care homes or in the community after being infected with the coronavirus and the Office of National Statistics are expected to announce these figures later today.

Public Health England is also due to issue an update on the number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 this afternoon.

Yesterday, there were five more confirmed cases in Bolton, taking the total number of cases to 47.

The number of confirmed cases has been rising comparatively slowly in Bolton compared to other boroughs in Greater Manchester so far.
