NHS coronavirus vaccination bus coming to 2 areas of Nottingham after 'disappointing' vaccine uptake

A mobile coronavirus vaccination clinic, in the form of a bus, will be coming to two areas of Nottingham this week.

The blue NHS vaccination bus was first introduced in south-east London back in February and came as part of an initiative to increase vaccine uptake in areas where fewer people were attending appointments when called up.

It comes after the latest data revealed Nottingham city had some of the lowest vaccination uptake numbers in England, outside the London boroughs, Forest of Dean and Luton.

Public health officials said the uptake of the Covid-19 vaccine had been somewhat "disappointing".

From Wednesday, April 14, the vaccine bus will pull up in Bilborough, according to Nottingham City Council's councillor Rebecca Langton.

On April 14, the bus will appear in the Strelley Social Club car park, in Heston Drive, between 10am and 1pm.

Then on Thursday, April 15, the bus will travel to The Pelican Pub in Bilborough where it will remain operational between 10am and 1pm.

Those who are eligible for their vaccination may turn up on the day to receive their jab.

"Drop by and get your jab," the city council says.
