In the north west as a whole, a further 109 hospital deaths were reported today.

In a statement on Wednesday, the NHS said: "A further 494 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 49,719.
