We have one game left tonight with the Eastern Conference closing out the first round. Tonight we will see the Capitals take on Hurricanes in a barn burner that hopefully will live up to the Sharks Knights game last night. The second round is going to be crazy!
The beauty of playoffs in sports is that the slate is wiped clean for every team who advanced this far. Just because the Bolts ran away with the Presidents’ Trophy, did not bode well with Tampa being knocked out in the first round.
Out in the Western Conference, the Calgary Flames led the pack and earned the top seed with 108 points. American forward Johnny Gaudreau tried to keep them in that series but was upset by Colorado (4-1).
Several teams will be looking to play spoiler to these top two seeds. As every year proves, anything can happen in the NHL’s postseason. It should be a wild ride through to the end.
