NHL fans couldn’t believe the refs waved off a huge goal for the Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes are going to a Game 7 after Carolina kept their season alive with a 5-2 win at home Monday night.

But the Capitals and their fans are not happy at all about a controversial call in the third period that took back what looked like was a game-tying goal for Washington.

The refs quickly waved it off after the puck found the back of the net and as the Capitals celebrated what they thought was a goal. After a review the refs the puck was under the goalie’s pads and was pushed in by the Caps.

So the game remained 3-2 and then moments later the Hurricanes all but ended things with a goal that made it 4-2.

But that call changed everything. This sure looked like it should have counted:
