(Reuters) - A tropical wave about 1,100 miles (1,770 km) east of the Windward islands has a 70 percent chance of tropical storm formation in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Friday.
"Environmental conditions are conducive for development, and a tropical cyclone is expected to form over the weekend," the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
