A trough of low pressure over the Straits of Florida has a 70% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Thursday.
"The disturbance has the potential to bring heavy rainfall to portions of the Florida Keys, Southeast Florida, and the Bahamas through Saturday," the Miami-based weather forecaster added.
